These courses are for people who are interested in training to teach literacy, numeracy or ESOL and would like to develop their skills and knowledge of the
subject, before starting a teacher training course.

Entirely online based using our Learning Management System and tutor support
Blended learning, combination of online provision via Learning Management System (Moodle), backed up by live online classes via WizIQ portal
Option based on minimum of 10 students we can offer the above and 4 weekend (Saturday) face sessions at a suitable location.
Practical Demonstration – Group Discussion – Case study – Written assignment – Observation of learner’s skills – Question and answer sessions.
All the units are knowledge-based and there is no requirement to undertake assessed practical teaching to achieve this qualification. However, it is expected that the assessment will provide learners with an opportunity to apply their skills in a practical context where appropriate. This qualification is assessed through activities, which are developed by the centre, internally marked and sampled as part of quality assurance/ internal verification procedures.
There are no specific entry requirements however learners should have a minimum of level two in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
The qualification is suitable for learners of 16 years of age and above.
